A new kind of adventure

Only two more days until we leave for England for wedding extravaganza 2009. (My guys are going to look SO cute, I can hardly wait!) Piles of clothing are piling up in our bedrooms in preparation for the big trip. The washing machine is busy nearly constantly. The grass needs mowing. You get the picture.

Amidst the ruckus, I got a not-so-lovely e-mail from Northwest Airline this week. Our initial flight from Syracuse to Detroit has been canceled. The only way we can make our connection to London is to leave from Syracuse at 11:30 a.m. (which means leaving our house 8:30 a.m.).

What this means for us: A complete 24 hours of travel (with A, mind you), including a six-hour layover in the Detroit airport. And our London flight is full. And A doesn't have his own seat. (Although I do think I've scammed him a bassinet to sleep in.)

Needless to say I'm a little...dreading. (Is that enough whining for you? I'm guessing yes.) Paul, on the other hand, is deeming this travel adventure 2009 - a survival feat comparable to Man Versus Wild, with baby.

Friends who've traveled with children, send your best advice. Quickly. Please.

And, Dad, want to meet us for lunch on Thursday?

Out.
