Anyway, the creator of the slogan, Howard Cogan, died this weekend. It's an interesting story - he never copyrighted the phrase as he wanted everyone to be able to use it. Hence its popularity. Ithaca's most famous wordsmith...

Howard Cogan was my father... and I "googled" him this morning. Many thanks for memorializing him on your blog. He was quite a wonderful man -- obviously he left an impression on you.
